October 13, 2013 - Kansas City Chiefs Football Game

The guys from Check Six Photography took some shots prior to the game that really capture the pagentry of the event.  Here is a nice shot of Alex Smith -- the Kansas City Chief's quarterback -- warning up.

Waiting for the Chiefs to emerge.

Cheerleaders cheering.

Game action.  Alex Smith calling signals.

After landing at back at Lee's Summit we boarded a bus to go to Arrowhead Stadium.  The bus was unusual.  The seats were missing from the forward half of the bus.  Instead, a sofa and beanbag chairs!  Not a problem.  We were all on a high from the successful flight.  Plus, a beer-filled cooler.

Let the party begin.

Outside the stadium.  "You guys want to do what?  Hit the road before I call the SWAT team."

Actually, they were expecting us and we were soon led into the stadium.  We arrived just after halftime.

Walking down the tunnel towards the playing field.

We emerged at the end zone corner.  It was pretty overwhelming.  The stadium was filled with 80,000 very enthusiastic fans, each wearing a Kansas City Chief's jersey.  The players were doing thier thing on the field.  The cheerleaders was doing their thing nearby.  The Roman coliseum must have been like this back in the day.

Standing in the corner waiting for a time-out.

Being herded into the End Zone.

There, we were announced us to the crowd, showed on the JumboTron, and the crowd cheered while we waved.

The players played football oblivious to the spectacle around them.

Then it was back up the tunnel and to our seats.  On the way, we passed through this Kansas City Chief's Hall of Fame area.  I would have liked to check it out but didn't have time.

Half -- the ones who had flown the farthest -- were in a VIP suite so this is where I met Lynnette.

Looking down from our seats.

Notice the JumboTron.  They were trying to set the world's record for loudest stadium.  It was LOUD.  Painfully loud.

And they won the record.

It had to be difficult for the Raiders to play with the unbelievable noise.

Inside the VIP suite.  There were glass doors betweent the suite and the seats so you could get away from the noise.

The Women of KC Flight.

After the game.    Which the Chiefs won, by the way.  They are undefeated, 6-0, so far this season.  Last year they were the worst team in the league.  What a difference a new coach and a new, experienced quarterback makes.

A close-up of the T-shirts we were all wearing.

The party in the parking lot continued after the game.   We're Six and Ohh!
